"Hopeless" by Colleen Hoover

Started March 20, 2013 - Ended March 23, 2013

I find a lot of random books to read via Amazon's daily deal page.

Recommended for mature readers due to sexual content and heavy subject matter involving abuse.

From Amazon: Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies...

That's what Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she's never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he's nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn't at all who he's been claiming to be. When the secrets he's been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky's life will change forever.

Dean Holder has to be one of the most perfect (literary) boyfriends ever. So yes, the book gets sort of sappy. But honestly who doesn't want someone that loves you unconditionally and supports every move you make? "Hopeless" has a lot of twists and turns that eventually tie the entire story together, and I like that. The characters have depth and you really do like them. "Hopeless" does deal with very sensitive subject matter, but it's done very tastefully. I enjoyed this book and will probably read more by Colleen Hoover. I give "Hopeless" a B+.
